Who We Are
Marriage and Parenting for the Community Organization (MAPCO) is a registered non-governmental organization based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Our mission is to promote strong, stable marriages and responsible parenting as a foundation for thriving families and resilient communities.
Founded out of a growing concern for rising family conflicts, youth vulnerability, and the breakdown of societal values, MAPCO works to restore the social fabric by supporting individuals and families across all walks of life. We focus on empowering women, children, adolescents, and other disadvantaged groups through education, advocacy, counselling, and capacity-building programs.
At MAPCO, we believe that strong families create strong nations. Our programs emphasize community engagement, mindset transformation, and socio-economic empowerment. We also advocate for the rights and protection of vulnerable populations, particularly survivors of violence, street-connected children, and victims of trafficking.
Through strategic partnerships, professional volunteers, and evidence-based approaches, MAPCO continues to create safe spaces where love, responsibility, and dignity are nurtured — one family at a time.
